Urgent search, police release name of prime suspect in triple murder

Police have launched a major search for the main suspect in connection with a triple murder in Hertfordshire.

Police say they are urgently trying to locate Kyle Clifford, who may still be in possession of the crossbow, and are warning the public not to approach the 26-year-old.


Emergency services were called to a house in Ashlyn Close, Bushey, Hertfordshire, just after 7pm on Tuesday.

Police and paramedics found three seriously injured women at the scene and desperately tried to save their lives, but the victims died at the scene shortly afterwards.

Detectives say they urgently want to find Kyle Clifford, who may still have the crossbow.

Investigators said the three women were related.

Police have confirmed that suspect Kyle Clifford is from Enfield, north London, and believe he may be in Hertfordshire or north London.

Detective Inspector Rob Hall, of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Crime Unit, said: “This is an incredibly difficult incident for the victims’ families and we would ask for their privacy to continue to come to terms with what has happened.

“While the investigation is still in its early stages, we are actively seeking Kyle Clifford who we believe may be in the Hertfordshire or north London area.

The detective chief said that given the seriousness of the incident, the public should not contact Clifford.

Extra police patrols are patrolling the scene of a triple murder in Bushey in a bid to reassure the public.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed a number of crews were sent to the scene in Bushey.

“Three ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an emergency medical vehicle, a hazard response team, the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and the London Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the team, three women were pronounced dead at the scene.”

A neighbour, who did not want to give his name, told the PA news agency he did not know the victims well but “they were a friendly family”.

She added: “We saw them every day as they walked past and they said hello to us.
“What happened is really sad, very shocking.”

Local councillors Louise Nicolas, Alan Matthews and Paul Richards issued a joint statement: “We are deeply shocked and saddened to hear the tragic news that three women have died following a violent incident in the heart of our local community.

“As North Bushey councillors we extend our condolences to their families and all those affected by this tragedy.

“We encourage anyone with information relevant to the investigation to contact police.”
