Accident in Middleborough, Massachusetts, one person dead – NBC Boston

A 23-year-old man died after being thrown from the pickup truck he was driving that hit a tree in Middleborough, Massachusetts, on Monday morning.

Middleborough police said they received a report of a crash on Fuller Street near the Halifax Line at 11:41 a.m. When they arrived, they saw a 2015 GMC pickup truck hit a tree and overturned into the marshy water.

The driver, a Bridgewater resident, was thrown into the water in a small creek next to the road. Middleborough Fire Department divers performed a water rescue, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family members.

Initial police findings show that the driver was driving at high speed before the accident.

According to police, Fuller Street at the Middleborough and Halifax line will be closed to traffic for the duration of the incident.

The crash is being investigated by Middleborough Police with assistance from State Police assigned to the Plymouth District Attorney’s Office.
