3-year-old dies after drowning in Chandler

PHOENIX — Authorities said a 3-year-old child died Wednesday evening after drowning at a residence in Chandler.

According to Chandler police, the baby was pulled from a backyard swimming pool near a home near McClintock Drive and Chandler Boulevard.

“The child was taken to a children’s hospital where he was pronounced dead,” detective Eva Zermeno said in an email.

No other details were provided.

The incident is under investigation.
