YouTuber Ben Potter has died at the age of 40 after an ‘unfortunate accident’

Comic book fans are mourning the loss of a key presence in the industry.

Ben Potter—who had amassed over 3 million subscribers on his YouTube account Comicstorian—his wife died in an “unhappy accident” Natalie Potter confirmed on social media. He was 40 years old.

“For many of you, he was a comic book artist, presenting stories from many different mediums,” Nathalie wrote in a June 10 message shared on Ben’s various social media accounts. “To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive people you could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, and even just a stranger, Ben was loving and sincere. He was our rock and calmed his loved ones whenever they needed it.”

Nathalie said of Ben, “He was my world,” and noted that he needed privacy to process and grieve, adding, “Right now, my priority is preserving everything he built, and I have no plans beyond that.” .

Because, as she noted, Comicstorian – which created radio plays based on comic books and often talked about the Marvel and DC universes – is already quite a legacy.
