Three people died in a road accident in Chandpur

CHANDPUR, June 11, 2024 (BSS) – Three persons were killed and two others injured when a sand-laden truck collided with a CNG-powered auto rickshaw on Chandpur-Cumilla Regional Highway in Gogra area under Hajiganj upazila of the district this afternoon.

One of the dead was identified as 25-year-old Sobuja. The identities of the remaining victims were not immediately known.

All the deceased were passengers of the CNG-powered rickshaw.

The accident occurred in the area when a sand-laden truck rammed a CNG-powered rickshaw coming from the opposite direction around 2:45 p.m., as a result of which Sobuj died on the spot and four others were seriously injured. said Hajiganj Police Commissioner Abdur Rashid.

The injured were taken to Chandpur Sadar Hospital, where two of them died, he added.

The police secured the truck at the scene.

Legal action will be taken in this matter, KO announced.
