Wild video captured water flowing from a fire hydrant leaving a vehicle suspended in the air after a crash in Southern California.

Orange County fire officials said firefighters encountered an unusual scene Sunday evening in Lake Forest in the Los Angeles area.

“We consider this something you don’t see every day,” the agency wrote in X.

Video released by authorities showed water gushing from the hydrant lifting the rear of the SUV off the ground.

The vehicle could be seen bouncing up and down with the force of the water as firefighters circled the crash site.

“Fortunately, both drivers exited the vehicle on their own before our arrival. Firefighters rendered aid to both drivers and they were transported to the hospital, where they required paramedic-level care,” the Orange County Fire Department said.

“While both firefighters were being transported to the scene, work continued to isolate the water mains on both sides of the hydrant,” the agency added. “This caused the car to lower and firefighters were eventually able to gain access to the water shut-off valve next to the car.”

The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.
