A former Kent Police officer has been charged with six rapes.

Jamie Woodhams, of Ashford, was the subject of an investigation by detectives following a report made to police in October 2022.

The 51-year-old is currently facing six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The charges concern crimes committed against two women in… county and elsewhere from 2006 to 2022.

He was also charged with three counts of misconduct in a public office related to alleged relationships he had with women he met while performing his duties.

Woodhams, who resigned from the service in April 2022, will appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on June 27.

He first became a Kent Police officer in October 1993.
