Missing woman and child found dead in submerged car in Alabama;  police are still looking for a third woman – WSB-TV Channel 2

EUFAULA, Alabama – Police say the bodies of a missing woman and a 4-year-old boy were found in a submerged car in Alabama near the Georgia border over the weekend.

Police in Eufaula said they were searching for two young women and a child who went missing on June 1.

Eufaula is located just across the Georgia border on the Walter F. George Reservoir, south of Columbus.

On Sunday, police received information about the whereabouts of the missing people and began searching the water around Old Creek Town Park, which is located on the reservoir. Investigators found the car submerged in water about 12 feet deep.

Divers connected the vehicle and pulled it out of the water. The bodies of a woman and a small child were found inside. Officers are still looking for the third woman.

The victims have not been identified. The death is being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Division. Anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 334-687-1200 or the Anonymous Tip Line at 334-687-7100.
