Albuquerque police officer charged with driving under the influence in a patrol car

According to APD, Officer Jordan Hernandez was arrested around midnight after state police observed him speeding in a patrol vehicle on Bobby Foster Road near Mesa del Sol.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – An Albuquerque Police Department officer has been placed on administrative leave after he was arrested overnight by New Mexico State Police for DWI.

According to APD, Officer Jordan Hernandez was arrested around midnight after state police observed him speeding in a patrol vehicle on Bobby Foster Road near Mesa del Sol. Following the investigation, Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of DWI.

“It is always disappointing to learn that one of our officers is accused of violating the very laws he swore to enforce,” said APD Chief Harold Medina. “We will continue our internal investigation while criminal charges are processed through the justice system.”

Hernandez will be placed on administrative leave while an internal investigation is conducted.
