Gandhi received 6,47,445 votes, lower than the 7,06,367 votes he got in 2019 in the same constituency.

In 2019 too, the Congress leader won from Wayanad constituency, which made it easier for him to enter the Lok Sabha after his defeat in Amethi.

In the Raebareli Lok Sabha from Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi defeated Dinesh Pratap Singh of the BJP by a majority of 3,90,030 votes.

In the previous elections, Rahul Gandhi’s mother, Sonia Gandhi, won the seat.

Earlier in the day, while thanking voters for supporting the Congress Party and the INDIA bloc, Rahul Gandhi said, “UP ki janta ne kamaal karke dikha diya…”

The people of UP understood the country’s politics and threats to the Constitution and stood up for the Constitution, Rahul said.

On June 5, the INDIA bloc partners will hold a meeting to determine the further course of action.

“Tomorrow we will have a meeting with our alliance partners with India… we respect our alliance partners and we will not make statements to the press without asking them,” Rahul Gandhi said.
