Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Wayanad or Raebareli?  Rahul Gandhi says, “if I had control over it…”

Amid questions on whether he would like to remain an MP from Wayanad or Raebareli, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday posted a short video thanking voters from both the seats.

In a 30-second video, Rahul Gandhi thanked voters for their immense love and support.

“I am being asked whether I will remain the MP from Wayanad or Raebareli constituency. If it were up to me, I would prefer to remain an MP from both seats,” Gandhi said.

In the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala, Rahul Gandhi defeated CPI’s Annie Raja by a majority of over 3.5 lakh votes.

Gandhi received 6,47,445 votes, lower than the 7,06,367 votes he got in 2019 in the same constituency.

In 2019 too, the Congress leader won from Wayanad constituency, which made it easier for him to enter the Lok Sabha after his defeat in Amethi.

In the Raebareli Lok Sabha from Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi defeated Dinesh Pratap Singh of the BJP by a majority of 3,90,030 votes.

In the previous elections, Rahul Gandhi’s mother, Sonia Gandhi, won the seat.

From 2004 to 2019, Rahul Gandhi represented the Amethi seat before losing to Smriti Irani.

Earlier in the day, while thanking voters for supporting the Congress Party and the INDIA bloc, Rahul Gandhi said, “UP ki janta ne kamaal karke dikha diya…”

The people of UP understood the country’s politics and threats to the Constitution and stood up for the Constitution, Rahul said.

On June 5, the INDIA bloc partners will hold a meeting to determine the further course of action.

“Tomorrow we will have a meeting with our alliance partners with India… we respect our alliance partners and we will not make statements to the press without asking them,” Rahul Gandhi said.
