MCKENZIE, Tenn. — Police have identified the victim in a fatal train crash.

Christopher Austin Tyler Jackson, 30, was found dead Saturday morning, according to the McKenzie Police Department.

Police say that on June 8 at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of ​​Hamilton Street and South Stonewall in McKenzie following a report from the railroad company that a person had been hit by a train.

According to the police, officers arrived at the scene and found the deceased man.

A WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News source told us the train was forced to apply its emergency brakes to stop. Our crews arrived on scene and witnessed CSX Railway Company employees, law enforcement officers, and several bystanders.
