WWE star Alba Fyre is “devastated” after her mother died at the age of 51 in a horrific accident while on vacation in Florida.

The 31-year-old Scottish wrestler, whose real name is Kayleigh Rae, and her family are devastated after Bridgeen Mitchell and her dad Ronnie were hit by a car while visiting their daughter in Orlando.

Her dad survived the accident on May 17, but Bridgeen died from her injuries shortly afterwards.

Her tragic death came just weeks before Alba was scheduled to fight at WWE Clash At The Castle in Scotland, which will be an emotional homecoming.

According to the Daily Record, the couple flew to Florida to see their daughter, who is a global WWE superstar.

Local officials said the driver was cooperative at the scene and no charges would likely be filed.

“My mom and dad were hit by a car while crossing the street. Unfortunately, my mother did not survive,” Alba said.

“Words cannot describe how devastated we all are. She was the most caring, fun-loving person, the life of every party, and the greatest little legend we all knew. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.

“We know this loss will be felt by everyone and while our family would appreciate some privacy during this time, we would like people to remember my mom for all the love she gave to everyone.”

Shortly after the accident, the wrestling star paid tribute to his mother with an emotional Instagram post.

She wrote: “The world won’t be the same without you. I love you mom.’

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money to bring Bridgeen’s body to Scotland. Over £2,500 has been raised so far.

A post on the site reads: “The family is going through such a traumatic time, but they also need to make sure they bring Bridgeen home before they can make any further plans to bury her.”

Under the name Kay Lee Ray, Alba made history by holding the NXT UK Women’s Championship for 649 days, a record for a WWE women’s title.

This weekend she, her Unholy Union teammate and fellow Scottish star Isla Dawn will battle it out for the Women’s Tag Team titles in Glasgow.
