One victim sexually assaulted in armed carjacking at a bank in south Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Three people were attacked and carjacked in a bank parking lot in south Charlotte, according to reports from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On Sunday, June 9, around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported armed robbery at a Bank of America at 5801 South Blvd.

The victims, an 18-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man and a 46-year-old man, said the suspect was armed and carjacked their 2008 Toyota Camry. Reports indicate that the suspect also sexually assaulted one of the victims.

According to the report, none of the victims suffered serious injuries from the incident. It is unclear whether the suspect has been caught or charged. According to police, this is an active investigation.
