A 15-year-old student accused of threatening mass violence at school

BETHESDA, Md. — Montgomery County police have charged a student after a bomb threat was called at a high school on June 7.

Police were called to Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda just before 11 a.m.

Following the threat, school authorities evacuated students and staff.

Authorities later determined that the threat was inappropriate and that there was no ongoing threat to the school.

Investigators later identified the suspect, a 15-year-old student.

The student was charged with threatening mass violence and disrupting school operations.
