Charges following a man’s attack on the street

Two men have been charged after a man was left in a critical condition after being attacked near a pub.

Police were called to the incident near the Walkabout on Queen Street, Blackpool, at around 04:25 BST on Saturday.

According to Lancashire Police, a 50-year-old man with serious head injuries was taken to hospital, where he remains.

A 36-year-old from Fleetwood was charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent and a 39-year-old from Blackpool was charged with affray and assault.

Both were due to appear before magistrates in Lancaster.
