One person dead after double stabbing in Brockton, no suspects arrested

One person died Monday after a double stabbing at a home in Brockton, officials said.

According to Brockton Police spokesman Darren Duarte, police have not arrested a suspect in connection with the incident, but the investigation is ongoing.

State Police were notified of a double stabbing at 23 Melrose Ave. around 7:40 p.m. Monday, District Attorney Tim Cruz said in a post on X.

Cruz said two men were taken to local hospitals, where one victim was pronounced dead.

Cruz added that the incident did not appear to be a random act of violence.

Duarte said the district attorney’s office is investigating the incident. No further information was provided.
