Shooting in Tacoma leaves man dead on East F Street – KIRO 7 News Seattle

TACOMA, Wash. — A man was killed in a shooting in Tacoma on East F Street in Tacoma on Tuesday night.

The police received a number of reports from people who heard multiple shots in the area around 11:30 p.m

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man lying on the ground.

Neighbors told KIRO 7 News the man was found on the sidewalk in a residential neighborhood.

Emergency services tried to save the victim, but he was later pronounced dead.

Neighbors told KIRO 7 News they heard more than a dozen shots in what they described as a drive-by shooting.

“I heard it. They were getting close here. A few more shots,” said neighbor Lex Meeker. “I felt unsafe.”

Meeker said violence was becoming too common in the area.

“I grew up all over this neighborhood. It gets more and more dangerous from time to time,” she added.

Tacoma police said they had no details on a possible suspect as of Wednesday afternoon. They are asking for help from anyone with information that will help detectives solve the case.

“This is not just a police matter. We cannot solve this problem ourselves. We need community. We need a city. We need a fire department. We need every person who lives in and visits Tacoma to work with us to help solve this problem and stop the killings in our city,” said Shelbie Boyd, public information officer for the Tacoma Police Department.

“If you have someone brave enough to fire multiple rounds into the audience, they won’t stop. It won’t just happen this one time. So putting them in prison potentially saves other people’s lives,” she added.

People stopped at the crime scene to leave flowers near where the victim died.

Several people said the victim was 23-year-old Brichaun Pringle.

A candlelight vigil has been planned to remember him on Wednesday at 8 p.m., near the crime scene, he told KIRO 7 News.
