Preparations for the funeral of a boy from Livonia who died as a result of a tornado

A funeral was held for a 3-year-old boy who died last week as a result of a tornado.

According to Fred Wood Funeral Home, visitation for Cooper Christopher Drake will be from 2-7 p.m., Thursday and 10:11 a.m. Friday in the DiPonia Room in the Vistatech Center on the Schoolcraft College campus. The center is located at 18600 Haggerty Road, near Interstate 275 and Seven Mile Road in Livonia.

The funeral mass will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the DiPonia Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Livonia First Responders Foundation, 37637 Five Mile Road, Suite 911, Livonia, MI 48154.

“Please let us celebrate this beautiful 3-year-old in style,” Cooper’s obituary said on the funeral home’s website. “Please wear jeans and a T-shirt of your favorite character. Some of his favorites are Spiderman, Ninja Turtles and Trucks.”
