Man charged with sexual assault and kidnapping in Greenville

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – A man faces charges after a sexual assault incident was reported in Greenville Saturday morning.

The Greenville Police Department reported that on June 8, a woman reported being sexually assaulted in the area of ​​Worley Road between 1 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.

The officers reported that the victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident. According to the police, he is currently undergoing intensive treatment.

The victim described the suspect as Robert Vorhees. It was reported to officers that Vorhees and the woman had met before midnight, but that they did not know each other before the incident.

Officers located Vorhees and charged him with aggravated assault and battery, first-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping.

Greenville Police are investigating the incident.
