Michael Rainey Jr. speaks about being groped during livestream show: ‘Sexual violence is never okay’

Michael Rainey Jr.’s appearance in a recent stream from Tylil James, aka TyTy, is turning heads after the Power star was groped without consent. In the online clip, Rainey is approached by a person identified as James’ sister.

The incident happened with children standing right in front of Rainey and a neighborhood friend came over to break up the incident after seeing it happen.

James commented on the incident after the stream ended, saying: β€œThe energy changed and the n***as got up and left. All that shit really made me feel.

Rainey discusses the moment on Instagram:

β€œAt this point, everyone has seen the video circulating online. I’m still in shock and not sure how to process what happened last night. This is an unfortunate situation that I do not condone in any way. I can’t take it lightly because I know I would be in serious trouble if the tables were turned. The fact is that sexual violence is never okay, regardless of gender or status. We are all human and we should respect each other. The most important thing is that we must always respect ourselves.”

James added his own official statement: β€œMy little sister was completely wrong and out of line. What she did was very inappropriate and unacceptable. I am truly ashamed and disgusted by her actions. I completely respect the direction Michael wants to take in this situation. After watching the clip I was completely impressed with what she did. I will take extreme precautions on future streams to avoid similar issues and have banned her from participating in future streams.
