Lyon County Accident, One Dead, One Arrested | News

A crash earlier this month in Lyon County left one person dead and another person arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.

Nevada State Police responded to a June 2 crash at Six Mile Canyon Road and San Clemens Avenue in Lyon County.

According to the preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling south on Six Mile Canyon Road toward San Clemens Avenue.

The car spun and hit a ditch, then became airborne, hit a fence and landed on its roof.

The passenger, 30-year-old Tyler Nichols of Dayton, Nevada, was ejected from the car and died at the scene.

The driver, Kyle Walker, 34, also of Dayton, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence. He was booked into the Lyon County Jail.

Officers say none of the people were wearing seat belts.

The Nevada State Police Multidisciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
