Houston police investigate fatal crash on Airport Boulevard | Texas

HOUSTON, Texas — Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday at 2900 Airport Boulevard around 11 p.m.

A black Kia Optima traveling northbound on the South Highway 288 service road struck a white Jeep Liberty traveling eastbound on Airport Boulevard, according to Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer L. Fenoglio of the HPD Vehicle Crimes Division. The impact caused the Jeep to strike a light pole on the east side of the intersection.

The passenger in the Jeep, a 29-year-old woman, was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The 27-year-old female driver of the Jeep and the 27-year-old male driver of the Kia were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation continues.
