Novato police arrest suspects in robbery case

Novato police have arrested three suspects accused of stealing goods and selling them online.

Officers arrested suspects following a reported theft Friday evening at Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. Police found thousands of dollars worth of stolen items and suspected drugs in their vehicle and linked the suspects to thefts from Bay Area stores, Sgt. said Wes Carroll.

The suspects are Stephen Edwards, 34, of Eureka; Amanda Edwards-Evers, 46, of Eureka; and Said El Jamali, 33, of Mountain View. Jail records show they were booked on charges of organized retail theft with intent to sell stolen goods, and jail records show Edwards was also booked on charges of possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court records show Edwards and Jamali were charged with conspiracy, burglary and shoplifting. They were to be interrogated on Tuesday.

Edwards-Evers was released without charge pending further investigation, Sgt. Marin sheriff. – said Adam Schermerhorn. Edwards-Evers could not be reached for comment.
