A teenager accused of planning violence at Mariemont HS will appear in court for a trial

The teenage suspect accused of planning a mass shooting at Mariemont High School was back in court Tuesday. A teenager facing a single count of conspiracy to commit aggravated murder is accused of planning a mass shooting at a school. The teenager was arrested in February. On Tuesday, the suspect and his parents appeared in court for a pre-trial hearing to discuss the evidence and determine whether the teenager should be released on bail. The judge ruled that the suspect would remain in custody at least until the next pre-trial hearing, which was set for June 27. Both the prosecution and defense are scheduled to attend a probable cause hearing on July 10 that will determine whether the suspect will be tried as an adult. Last month, the 14-year-old suspect was found competent to stand trial following a ruling by Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge Kari Bloom.
